          MATTHEW

My first job in entertainment had me reading the work of other writers and providing story arch feedback leading to new iterations of their scripts. Below are some of the films I did that for.

Most are on Netflix, or some streaming service.

By the way, if your a literature junky, or know anything about the Warhol era, that name to the left should ring a bell.

The Ledge

A thriller in which a battle of philosophies between a fundamentalist Christian and an atheist escalates into a lethal battle of wills. Ultimately, as a test of faith, or lack of it, the believer forces the non-believer onto the ledge of a tall building. He then has one hour to make a choice between his own life and someone else's. Without faith in an afterlife, will he be capable of such a sacrifice?

Produced by MICHAEL MAILER and MARK DAMON

Written and Directed by MATTHEW CHAPMAN

Starring LIV TYLER, PATRICK WILSON, CHARLIE HUNNAM and TERRENCE HOWARD

Blood and Bone

Set in Los Angeles, Isaiah Bone is an ex-cop that joins an urban underground fighting circuit as part of his plan to take revenge on a ruthless gang leader. Fallen into a world without rules, he makes his own.

Produced by NICK SEMUNEK, MATTHEW BINNS, MICHAEL MAILER

Written by MICHAEL ANDREWS

Directed by BEN RAMSEY

Starring MICHAEL JAI WHITE

The Lodger

A couple rents out a room to a mysterious young man, who may or may not be guilty of a series of grisly neighborhood murders. Set in Los Angeles with two converging plot lines: The first involves an uneasy relationship between a psychologically unstable landlady and her enigmatic lodger; the second is about a troubled detective engaged in a cat-and-mouse game with the elusive killer. A contemporary adaptation of the novel, “The Lodger”, by Marie Belloc Lowndes used also, for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1927 thriller.

Produced by MICHAEL MAILER

Written and Directed by DAVID ONDAATJE

Starring ALFRED MOLINA, HOPE DAVIS and SIMON BAKER

Distributed by Sony
